2011 Scott Bikes

September 23, 2010

We took advantage of the rain over the last few days to get most of the 2011 Scott bicycles built up and out on the floor. As a whole, we are very impressed with this year’s line and look forward to receiving the remaining shipments.

Addict R2

Once again, the Addict leads Scott’s line up of high-end road bikes.  The R2 utilizes the 790 gram HMF-carbon frame, a HMF-carbon steerer fork, a full Shimano Ultegra 6700 group, a Ritchey WCS / Pro carbon cockpit and Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels.  The bike retains the same geometry as the previous years and should prove once again to be te fastest bike in the group.

Sub 35

By far the coolest bike we received was the new SUB 35.  The SUB, which  stands for Speed Utility Bike, is an urban bike designed for commuting, trips to the store, and just getting around town.  The frame and fork have integrated eyelets which make it easy to mount a rack and fender system and the Shimano Nexus internal 8-speed drivetrain provides its typical flawless shifting.  We are particularly enamored with the white wheels and the gold chain though adding gold pedals would have put it over the top.

Speedster S40

The Speedster S40 is Scott’s entry into the value priced road bike field.  This lightweight and efficient bike is designed with shape optimized double-butted alloy tubing and proven geometry to provide unmatched comfort and great handling. The S40 is equipped with a Shimano Tiagra/Sora group set, a Truvative Isoflow compact crank and Alex Race 28 Aero wheels.  All in all –  a great value.

2011 Scott Bicycles

The 2011 bicycles from Scott have begun to arrive. Today we received Addicts, Subs and Speedsters. This is only the first shipment and others will arrive as soon as they are available. We will get these built up in the next few days and post pictures.

Interbike also began in Las Vegas this week. For those of you who don’t know, Interbike is the annual gathering of the Bicycle industry where the new products and models are typically launched. Both the Boss and the Racer will be attending and I’m sure we will have a host of interesting pictures and products to share.
